Technical ITAM Consultant UK

Noventiq Northern Europe is looking for a technical ITAM consultant

At Noventiq Northern Europe's ITAM Services Department, we execute numerous projects annually for our international enterprise clients, encompassing the process, technological, and organizational facets of IT Asset Management (ITAM). In your role as a technical ITAM consultant, your key responsibilities include supporting our clients in both specific projects and ongoing operational services. You are recognized as both a subject matter expert and a trusted advisor in the technical aspects of ITAM, such as discovery tooling, within an enterprise's infrastructure.

Our ITAM services are designed to provide clients with reliable, actionable data and advice, forming the foundation of their ITAM strategies. We assist our clients in achieving comprehensive coverage of their ITAM tooling. This is accomplished through a variety of techniques, scripts, and custom connectors, enhancing the existing capabilities of their tools with additional data sources. Our long-standing commitment to this field is reflected in our technical expertise and proprietary methodologies, which have significantly influenced the ITAM tooling landscape for numerous clients. Our tool-agnostic approach allows us to proficiently utilize a wide array of market-leading tools including FlexNet Manager, Flexera One (all modules), ServiceNow ITOM, SAM and HAM, Snow Software, USU, IBM Turbonomic, LeanIX, and more.

What you will be doing

In your pivotal role within our team, you are instrumental in providing technical services to our international clientele, encompassing every phase from design and creation to implementation, support, and management. Your responsibilities include a broad range of activities: supporting clients throughout entire implementation projects, enhancing data quality, developing solution architectures, and crafting custom connections. A significant part of your role involves identifying and addressing technology limitations and deficiencies in current systems, processes, and methodologies, devising efficient and sustainable technological solutions.

Clients regard you as an authority in guiding them towards reliable and valuable data insights. Your primary objective is to aid our customers in understanding their IT assets and in leveraging their management information for financial gain. As the technical expert in IT Asset Management (ITAM), you are responsible for delivering and presenting practical advice and solutions, addressing any client inquiries. These inquiries might include understanding what is installed on servers, computers, and laptops, comprehending the scope of ITAM from a technical viewpoint, ensuring infrastructure is accurately represented in tooling, and tackling the 'known unknowns' in the field. You navigate these and numerous other challenges in the dynamic realm of ITAM, which includes FinOps.

Our client base typically comprises enterprises, meaning you will engage with multiple stakeholders in complex scenarios. Your ability to handle such environments is crucial. You will be reporting to the Center of Excellence Lead.

What does our ideal candidate look like?

At Noventiq Northern Europe, the Technical Consultant is key in designing, implementing, configuring, and managing Software Asset Management (SAM) tooling, engaging at operational, tactical, and strategic levels. This role demands proficiency in installing and managing both client and server software, and the ability to handle multiple server environments. A solid understanding of Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM), including inventory discovery and data normalization, is essential. Experience with ITAM supporting tools such as Flexera One, FlexNet, ServiceNow SAM/HAM/ITOM, Snow, USU, or IBM Turbonomics is highly desirable.

In this customer-facing role, you'll be expected to troubleshoot technical issues effectively. Key to this position is the ability to communicate with customers, manage expectations, and navigate complex or sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. Strong communication skills are a must, along with the confidence to lead discussions and address critical audiences. You should possess the expertise to guide customers towards a more mature ITAM operation and show eagerness to share this knowledge, coaching both customers and colleagues in the technical aspects of ITAM.

You should be enthusiastic about the shift to cloud computing, IT modernization, and the emerging challenges in areas such as FinOps, Application Life Cycle Management, Application Rationalization, and Green IT. Your excitement for these evolving domains, coupled with a willingness to shape our services with your experience and knowledge, is vital.

We seek a consultant with some experience in software license management, SAM, or ITAM. Don't worry if there are areas you're not yet familiar with; we'll support your learning. Fluency in English is required, and additional language skills are a plus.
